Established in 2000, The Walking Shop is a specialist outdoor shop located in Leyburn, North Yorkshire.  The shop is owned and staffed by outdoor enthusiasts with varied outdoor pursuit interests, and in most cases you can talk to someone who has actually used the bit of kit that you intend to buy!

We specialise in high quality clothing and equipment for outdoor enthusiasts and adventurous travellers.  We endeavour to provide a high level of customer service both in our shop and here on the Web.

Our e-commerce system uses live stock information so that you can see whether or not we have the item in stock.  It will only allow you to place an order if it is actually in stock, which we think is preferable to taking orders for products that we don't have and then having to contact you after you have gone through the ordering process!

Please be aware that some products listed on this site may not be available in our Leyburn shop and there are certain items in our shop which we do not offer online.  If you are planning a special trip to our shop in Leyburn for something specific, please do phone first to check the price and availability to avoid any disapointment.

Next time you are visiting the area please call in and see us. The shop is open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 5.00pm.  I'm afraid we are closed on Sundays (we need to get out in the hills sometime)!
